ï  With people’s participation, plan, implement and evaluate programmes on livelihood opportunities and skills training, sensitize health nutrition, sanitation, HIV/AIDs, and organic farming.
  • Kolping India
ï  To strengthen and revive the spiritual fervour among the Christian Community and to improve and facilitate their economic self sufficiency.

  • Sustainable Livelihood of Dalits.
ï  Prevent migration, find alternative sustainable means of livelihood, conscientize rights and privileges of dalits and sensitize to sanitation, alcoholism, HIV/AIDs.

  • Cow Project / Milch Animal.
ï  To improve the economic standard of target people, through assistance with Milch Animals rearing.

  • Educational Scholarship SC/ST & BC
ï  Extend support to students of oppressed communities and BC students of College and Technical courses to meet their educational expenses.

  • Jana Shree Bima Yojana
ï  It aims to mitigate the risk factors faced by the people below poverty line.

  • Micro Credit (Sangamam)
ï  Sangamam is the functional union level structure for the purpose of Micro Finance, credit and thrift in a decentralized way.

  • Remi Computer Centre:-
ï  Trains youth, school and dropout children and women of SHGs.

As an exclusive offshoot of the Diocese of Kumbakonam, KMSSS was founded in November 1973.  Registered under Societies Act of Tamil Nadu Registration Act XXI of 1860, to take on the social responsibilities. 

Aims and Objectives:-
a)      To perform works of charity for those in need irrespective of race, caste, community or creed.

b)      To engage in social service activities aimed at improving the living conditions and general welfare of the poor, particularly farmers  and other working people, as well as poor and indigent persons of whatever occupations, irrespective of race, caste, community or creed.


c)      To work for the integral development of the people, especially the weaker and disadvantaged.
Operational Area:-
  • Parts of Thanjavur, Thiruvarur and the whole of Ariyalur Districts of Tamil Nadu, INDIA.
  • 3793 sq.kms.
  • 15 Panchayat Unions. 
Target Population:-
People Below Poverty Line, oppressed Dalit, women, destitute, children and disabled persons.

Review progress and Annual report submitted by the Governing Body.  The Secretary, presents before Governing Body Meeting the Accounts, receipts, expenditure and Balance Sheet with Auditor’s report.

How to find us in Kumbakonam
On the Kamaraj Road stretched between Mahamaham Tank and Railway Station. Opposite to St. Joseph Girls Higher Secondary School  walk on the left through St. Mary Cathedral Campus. Our office is adjacent to the Cathedral.
